The audio launch of Malini 22 Palayamkottai was held with much fanfare and it was spangled with presence of veteran director K Balachandar, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and many others. During the occasion, Kamal Haasan said, “I and Sri Priya have a commonality. We both wanted to be directors, but a person changed and greatly influenced us to become actors. When I earnestly decided to become a director, KB sir told that I would get down in an auto rickshaw or might not enjoy the privilege of fame. Obviously, Sri Priya should have come through the same scenario and finally has endeavoured with her ambition. This kind of film would really bring more oppositions much alike my movie, but am sure it will have a great result..”
