Why didn’t they name Actors Association in Tamil?: Bharathiraja

The election for South India Actors Association is scheduled to be held on 18th October. While Kalaippuli Dhanu is lending his support to Sarathkumar team behalf of Producers Association, the Directors Association has been decided to remain neutral and engaging itself in election preparations. Meanwhile, Iyakkunar Imayam Bharathiraja brings out some clarifications for both teams (Sarathkumar & Vishal) and making request on the basis of this.

According to his statement, he expresses, ‘It is not objectionable in accepting the membership of other lingual people in various film associations including Actors Association. But it is not acceptable for me to elect other lingual people for the posts of President and office dignitaries. Our Tamil land is very cordial towards the strangers for a longtime with letting them to flourish here. Other lingual people may undertake any career with freehand and have been allowed to contribute for the social welfare of this state. But, the top post in any field should be filled by Tamilian only. I hope you would easily understand this theory.

On the basis of this, I forward my request to the contesters to replace the name ‘South Indian Film Actors Association’ with ‘Tamilnadu Film Actors Association’ and to defend the self-respect as well as rights of Tamils. It is really contentious to see the name ‘South Indian Film Actors Association’ while only Tamil drama actors have memberships in Actors Association. I ask to all voters to think freely before they vote’.
