As per the trend in Tamil cinema, there is undeclared war between the Producers’ association and TV channels. When they enforced the command over providing the video clippings and songs to TV channels, the channels’ responses were inexorable. They do not show interest to buy the satellite rights of the films except popular stars.
But on the other side, the rare eventoccurred in which Sun TV tried to seal the deal to get satellite rights for the film ‘Jackson Durai’. In this regard, we can assume that there is competition among the channels to buy the rights not only for hit movies and also for the movies which are expected to be hit.
It seems that Sun TV is gear up to offer the amount up to Rs.3.5 crores for the movie ‘Naanum Rowdy thaan’. In addition, Vijay TV is also in contest. But, the producing unit expects more from the contestants.
