It is the film which narrates the story of a man, who makes success in his marriage and political career in his 40s after early failures. But, this is remake of Malayalam movie ‘Vellimoongaa’.
Sundar.C is the celebrity of an unpopular national party in southern strip of Tamil Nadu. His local political rivals are VTV Ganesh and Singampuli. But, both are belonging to main and popular political parties.
As Sundar.C is struggling to find out the bride to his expectation, he postpones his marriage. But, he meets Poonam Pajvaa and falls in love with her. But, he comes to know about the truth when he approaches the family members of her. The truth is that Poonam Pajvaa is the daughter of his childhood friend Kiran. Kiran’s husband Ravi Maria (Police Inspector), humiliates Sundar.C and arrange the bridegroom (Vaibav – foreign settler) for his daughter.
At this crucial juncture, Sundar.C gets an opportunity to become Rajya Sabha member. But, at the same time, Assembly election approaches, his own party heavy weight SriMann, gets MLA seat for Sundar.C as he is looking for that Rajya Sabha seat.
But, Sundar.C does not want to contest in MLA election. But, he steps in to the contest half mindedly. What happened finally? He acquired victory? – That is climax.
The character of Sundar.C is very effective and also appropriated. He scores well in his performance. There are so many desirable aspects in his characterization and performance.
Poonam Pajvaa attracts us by her beauty. Kiran enters in to the field after long time but her role is unique. The car driver of Sundar.C makes us feel rejoice through his merriment on Sundar.C.
VTV Ganesh and Singampuli have played their part very well. Yogi Babu also scores his mark. Other characters Srimann, Singapore Deepan and Sumithra are adding support for this film.
This film also witnesses some flaws of remake process. Director Vekat Ragavan did not bother about that. But, those flaws are not effective. The story gets speed gradually. As it can be considered as a political comedy, we may assure that it will rejoice the fans.
