Mersal is a film which has Vijay in the lead role. This film is being directed by Atlee. Atlee is joining hands once again with Vijay after Theri. Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nithya Menen, S. J. Suryah, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Sunil, Sathyan, Misha Ghoshal, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, Hareesh Peradi, Rajendran, Cheenu Mohan and Shanmuga Singaram are starring in the film.
A R Rahman is composing the music while G. K. Vishnu is handling the camera. Reuben is taking care of editing. N Ramasamy and Hema Rukmani are producing the film under the banner Thenandal Studios Limited. For the first time Vijay is donning triple roles.
