The special feature of the film ‘Maiem’ is the entire team of the film belongs to student community which means they are currently studying in colleges and schools. Final year engineering student of SRM University is the director of this film. A.P.Sridhar had committed himself in this odd attempt by producing film with completely depending on young students who are not having any type of experience in cine field. He also had provided the story for this film.

A rich girl named Suhasini conveys message to her lover and friend Kumaran Thangaraj to make arrangement for the marriage as she leaves her home secretly in midnight. As a result, both the friends enter an ATM which is located in a remote area from the town to get money for the marriage preparations. At that time, Jai Guheni, who had already quarreled with them also coming to the same ATM. While they are engaging in wrangle, a gigantic dreadful man is awaiting for them outside the ATM. He kills the watchman and police one by one for questioning him in front of the youths who are still in the ATM, captivating with fear.

After some time, the youths realize that there is another one watch man (Robo Sankar) in the adjacent room of ATM having been locked inside the room by his drunken friend. But,the watch man isable to provide some ideas to deal with the killer. However, all goes in vain.

In the meantime, a killer enters into the ATM and becoming the subject to the combined attack of the three youths. The youths kill that man and get shock of seeing the horrific man still remains in the outside of the ATM. Whom they have killed? Why the horrific killer is still wandering outside the ATM? Would they able to escape? – Answers are in the movie.

This film is very amateur attempt by the immature students who do not have any prior experience in shooting films. The producer should have to be refrained from providing the story and had to let them to create story. There are so many logical errors in this film. It makes audience apathetic. They should have to be concentrated on dialogues and script. The Heroine Jai Guheni is also a victim like us.

The only appreciable feature of this film is the role of drunkard Muruganandam. Finally, they came to known that the horrific person who was waiting outside the ATM is a spirit and it resisted them from coming out of the ATM to safeguard them. When we watch this flashback, on one could control the laugh.

According to our view, the youth spirit had been spoiled in this film.
