small budjet films

Election commission has announced the election date as 16th May. The election tension also prevails in Kollywood. As Election Commission’s demands are being imposed, it is hard to mobilize the huge amount for shooting purpose. Hence, it is believed that there will be tough time for cinema processes for more than two months.

On the other side, producers keen to release the low budget movies which were already completed the taxation and censor processes. They think that if they will be released on the brink of election, the collection would be affected.

At present, in Tamil Nadu, there are totally 1069 theatres. As there are no big movies at this stage, the low budget movies will not have tough time to enter the theatres freely. In the same day (March 11), totally 6 movies were released (‘Kaadalum Kadanthu Pogum’, ‘Maapla Singam’, ‘Aviyal’, Ennai Pidichirukkaa’, ‘Kodaimalai’ and ‘Natpathikaaram’). Furthermore, they intend to release 30 more films before the election.
