Inga Enna Solluthu Movie Review

VTV Ganesh gained an immense popularity with Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya following which, he was highly held in fame for his unique voice. For the first time, he appears in lead character for the film ‘Inga Enna Solludhu’ that is produced under his home banner. The film is directed by Vincent Selva and has musical score by Dharan. Silambarasan, Andrea Jeremiah, KS Ravikumar, Editor Anthony and Art Director Rajeevan have performed cameo roles.

VTV Ganesh is a not so lucky person as he remains to be a middle-aged bachelor with no dreams in his life. The film opens with his happy time at his friend Rajeevan’s wedding anniversary party, where he gets news that his wife (Meera Jasmine) has attempted for suicide. With a driver (Santhanam) by his side, his journey from Kodaikanal to Chennai begins and so is his flashback. What Ganesh doesn’t know is the real identity of his driver.

The story when read in one line is captivating, but Vincent Selva fails to narrate it the right way. With a running length of 2 hrs (approximately), the film is filled with sluggish and unconnected moments. There is no relevance among the scenes. By the point of intermission, the excitements are dropped and even the appearance of Silambarasan doesn’t evoke our invigorations. Meera Jasmine is not utilised properly. Andrea Jeremiah appears simply like a doll. Santhanam has not more than 15 minutes in the film. KS Ravikumar is perfect. Vincent Selva fails to craft the screenplay and dialogues in right way. The characterisations are so bleak. In more words, VTV Ganesh is not the right choice to be the protagonist here.

Dharan’s songs are average and except the one crooned by Silambarasan, nothing sounds better. The background score is irksome.

On the whole, Inga Enna Solludhu is a ho-hum movie that doesn’t deserve a watch at theatres, but can be watched for time pass when aired on TV.

Verdict: No relevance between title and movie.
