Veteran director Manirathnam is very much illustrious for the kind of film he makes. In spite of his few films in the recent times not working out best results, the director still retains his standard in industry. The directorw was present at the audio launch of Selvaraghavan’s Irandam Ulagam and released the CD that was received by K.V. Anand and Lingusamy.
Addressing the heavy crowd of special invitees, Selvaraghavan said, ‘When I was pursuing my seventh grade in school, my mother insisted me to watch a film and took me indeed. The moment I walked out of the theatre after watching the film, I made a firm decision – to make a film. It was none other than director Manirathnam and just see how a man create a deep impact on a small boy at his school to make his film. I earnestly request everyone to honour him for the 100 years of Tamil Cinema.’
