Maari Music Review

Dhanush-Anirudh: The word describes it all and the songs are undoubtedly gonna be the massive Chartbusters without any doubt. The album launched yesterday at Suryan FM has been generating the greatest sensation. Just as the label defines – Maara Thara Local, all the songs have been tuned up in such a mass and local beat. The album has six tracks that has almost Kuthu genre.

1. Maari Thara Local (Here comes Maari)

Singer: Dhanush

Lyrics: Dhanush

The song sounds literally reminding of ‘Royapuram Peter’ from Maan Karate. Be the beats or the style of rendition, it constantly follows the same pattern. Nevertheless, this song would surely have its huge knock at the theatres turning Dhanush fans crazier than before.

2. Oru Vidha Aasai

Singer: Anirudh and Vineeth Srinivasan

Lyrics: Dhanush

Well, this song stands out to be saliently different bringing the Jazz and Rock n Roll blended together. At first, the song might not exactly be the way you might like it, but sooner with the visuals, this may gradually have its realms.

3. Don’u Don’u

Singers: Anirudh and Alisha Thomas

Lyrics: Dhanush

Mark our words! This song is gonna catch the fires up instantly for its stylish and easy lyrics. The ones in English we hear during the interludes like you’re my Meesa Maama and I’m your Naughty Maami is sure to create the scintillating excitement among the youngsters. It sounds like a fastened tempo of ‘Kadhalikkum Pennin’ from Kadhalan.

4. Odayum Dagulu Maari (The Return of Maari)

Singers: Dhanush and Anirudh

The short span of music has the best instruments and Gaana number that will turn the audiences so much fascinated in theatres.

5. The Maari Swag

We have been hearing this background score from the time first look teaser was unveiled and it looks cool, which might sooner become the ringer tone of almost every fan of Dhanush.

6. Thappa Dhaan Theriyum

Singer: Aniurdh, Dhanush, Chinna Ponnu and Maghizhini Manimaaran

Finally, the album ends with a Kuthu song and this is no different and Anirudh has completely followed the same pattern.

On the whole, Maari doesn’t speak about the excellence of Anirudh, but too normal. Commercially, the song might click well among the fans, but this is not something we expect from Anirudh.

Verdict: Merely average.
