Prabudeva’s last Tamil film was ‘Engal Anna’. It was released in 2004 having Vijaykanth, Prabudeva, Vadivelu and Nameeda as protagonists. After this film, Prabudeva moved in to direction and production.

But, once again, he returns back as a hero in a Tamil film after 12 years. This movie is being directed by A.L.Vijay. Thamannaa has been assigned as heroine. They have named this movie as ‘Kaanthaa’.
It is a horror movie. R.J.Balaji and Sonu soot contribute this film. The team has resolved to finish off the shooting at the end of April. It is said that this is being produced as a trilingual (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) movie.
