Velai Illa Pattadhari 2 which has Dhanush in the lead role is being released throughout the world on 11thAugust. It was earlier decided to release the Tamil, Hindi and Telugu versions on the same day. Now the Telugu and Hindi versions release are being postponed by a week’s time.
In Malaysia alone the film VIP 2 is being released in 550 theatres. This is the first time a Tamil film is being released in Malaysia in so many theatres. In view of this, Dhanush and Kajol have participated in the promo functions held there.
In between, the Kerala rights have been acquired by Mohanlal’s production banner Aashirvad Cinemas and Max Lab owned by his manager Antony Perumbavoor. The same banner released Rajini’s Kabali. After Kabali, this firm will be releasing VIP 2 in more than 200 theatres in Kerala.
