Jackson Durai – Review

The very basis of horror movie is its interesting and different flashback. It can be serious and comedy. In this movie, they tried to tell a serious flashback with comedy sense.

The people of Ayanpuram village file complaint with the police about the ghost Johnson of their village. Hence, the police send an individual police officer Sibiraj to investigate about this. At that village Sibiraj falls in love with the daughter (BinduMathavi) village head man. When he tries to bring his love to the level of marriage, BinduMathavi’s brother-in-law Karunakaran comes to compete.

But the father of BinduMathavi comes with the settlement to end up this issue. He engages both of the guys in a challenge. The guys should spend 7 days in that haunted bungalow. Whoever comes alive at the end, they will get BinduMathavi. Both enter in that Bangalow. But, encounter with various thrilling and horror experiences.

There are two groups of ghosts with one group is belong to foreigner Jackson Durai and another one group is belong to Sathyaraj. What are objects of these ghosts? Who is the target of them? Sibiraj enters in to investigation. Did they (Sibiraj and Karunakaran) successfully expel the ghosts? Or expelled by ghosts? – That is climax.

Sibiraj makes us humor very well with his performance in that haunted bungalow. Karunakaran also has cooperated with him. But, in the climax, they spoiled the part of Sathyaraj.

Though there is less chance for BinduMathavi, she looks beauty as a village girl. MottaiRajendran’s (he is also the ghost) dialogue ‘kathavaimoodudaa’ earns heavy applause. Yogi Babu has been given considerable opportunity and played his part well.

Sacheri (Mottaithalai Jackson Durai) has performed very well. SiddarthVibin’s background music confuses us. Camera man Yuva’s job is appreciable in haunted bungalow scenes.

Director Dharanidaran differs in his way by depicting the horror concept. Hence, we should appreciate him. But, he failed to maintain curiosity throughout the film. He manages the first part very well but makes the confusion in second part. If he concentrated the screen play, it would have been enjoyable.
