Kochadaiiyaan music review

373

No words to delineate the combination of Superstar Rajnikanth and AR Rahman. There history of success graph has been ascending from ‘Muthu’, ‘Padaiyappa’, ‘Baba’, ‘Sivaji’ and ‘Endhiran’. There has been no turning back for these astounding personalities and for the first time they come up with a new endeavour in Kochadaiiyaan. The album has nine tracks and every song will stick to your memories by the first time you hear it. Behind Frames bring the first exclusive music review of Kochadaiiyaan.

Engal Kochadaiiyaan
Voices: Kochadaiiyaan Ensemble

Years back, we were spellbound over Rahman’s scintillating musical spell with ‘Azeem-O-Shehanshah’ from the film ‘Jodha Akbar’ and even its Tamil version had created good sound. In all likelihood, the academy award winner brings back a similar magic with this track that seems to be filmed on the ‘Rudra Thaandavam’ performed by Kochadaiiyaan Ensemble. The distorted guitar in the backdrops of heavy percussion sends us high on electrification.

Engae Pogudho Vaanam
Voices: SP Balasubramaniam

Even if the song had released without a tag of ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ and we had to guess about the singer, composer and actor in this track, it would have been easily identified with the brands – Superstar Rajnikanth, AR Rahman and SP Balasubramaniam.

Idhayam
Voices: Chinmayee

Chinmayee will surely walk away with a lot of awards with this emotional song. She creates the right impact of a woman’s pathos. The song slightly reminds us off ‘Athini Sitthini Pathini’ from Tenali, but her vocalism overshadows it and Srinivas adds some intensity to the track.

Karma Veeran
Voices: AR Rahman, AR Raihanah

The siblings leave you spellbound with this track. AR Rahman and AR Raihanah make you so much emotionally bound. The lyrical lines by Vairamuthu are a heavy-punch and it looks like he has penned this song in favour of Eelam Tamilians as the meaning easily signifies this issue. Raihanah is top scorer here as her high-pitched intonation is the cherry-pick.

Manapennin Sathyam
Voices: Latha Rajnikanth

So far, there have been many love songs that the young and old groups would often relate themselves with it. Each and every line from this song keeps us so much coherent to our loved ones. ‘Manapennin Sathyam’ is a moment to revive our wedding vows. We’re sure this song will be the evergreen song for all, especially for the ladies.

Manamaganin Sathyam
Voices: Haricharan

The song is a repetition of previous one and this is a man’s promise for his wife. Yes, this is how a man should be and thanks to Vairamuthu-AR Rahman for such a poignant song that comes after a very-very long time from this duo. Of course, it’s an apt song for the character essayed by Rajnikanth.

Maatram Ondru
Voices: Rajnikanth, Haricharan

The opening lines uttered by superstar Rajnikanth are sure to become a great message to the world that reads – there many ways to defeat the enemies, the first one is forgiveness. Well, the other line that comes from the superstar during the interludes is so colossal and will remain close to your hearts and it’s a secret recipe to achieve your success. Keep listening to this song for every minute to keep you motivated.

Medhuvaagathan
Voices: SP Balasubramaniam, Sadhna Sargam

It’s completely commercial and is meant to capture lay persons with the romantic elements included in the lyrical lines. You cannot look out for more poignance here and both the versatile singers – SPB and Sadhna Sargam suit the voices to superstar Rajnikanth and Deepika Padukone.

Rana’s dream
London Session’s Orchestra

A fantabulous orchestral composition by London troupe and we had seen this programming in one of the making videos of Kochadaiiyaan. The composition gets us to envisage about the protagonist’s vision of a long journey to make the accomplishments for his country.

After a very long time, we have Rahman getting back to form with ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ that brings us some of the finest music with captivating lyrics. With ‘Enge Pogudho Vaanam’ already holding a great position in audio markets, this complete album comprises of songs that will easily grab your attention. Superstar Rajnikanth’s ‘Maatram Ondre Maaradhadhu’ is the best one among all these tracks as it keeps us so much inspired and both the songs ‘Manapenn Sathyam’ and ‘Manamagal Sathyam’ are the beautiful poetic representations.

Verdict: The creation of an epical history in music by Rahman.
