Premam creates controversy – Theatres shutdown

Nivin Paul gained a huge fan following base in Tamil Nadu through his bilingual film ‘Neram’, which was a good hit. Off the late, his movies became so much popular in Tamil Nadu as well, which made a good show in spite of language barriers. Now with his recent film ‘Premam’ turning to be a good hit, many theatres in Chennai have moved it to the main screens. But to a shock, Kerala theatre owners are disappointed that in spite of the film performing well, there is fewer crowds to the theatres due to high piracy. To curb down this and as an act of protest, the theatre owners association are holding a strike with theatres shut down tomorrow (July 9) throughout Kerala.
