As soon as the news about Karthi working on a rural based entertainer was announced, there were many calls like this could be quite similar to his debut film Paruthiveeran that turned to be a massive hit. Karthi speaking to a leading Tamil magazine has said that there are lots of newness in Komban and this film wouldn’t strike similarity with Paruthiveeran. “Komban is about a boy raised in a good manner and there is not going to be anything on negative aspects such as smoking and drinking. This is about a man who is so much attached to his family and the village folks. Any issues raised in the village will surely require him to sort it out,” says Karthi. Lakshmi Menon plays the female lead role opposite Karthi as his wife with Raj Kiran as father-in-law and Kovai Sarala as his mother.
