Behind Frames Exclusive: Thegidi remake goes to Bollywood

Things are getting bigger with producer Abhinesh of ABI TCS Studios. His upcoming production ‘144’ in collaboration with CV Kumar is getting ready for release in August. The film touted to be a comedy caper stars Mirchi Shiva, Ashok Selvan, Oviya and Shruthi Ramakrishna in lead roles. While the plans are on to make it a grand release, he is venturing into Bollywood with the remake of ‘Kalyana Samayal Saadham’ that would be directed by same filmmaker RS Prasanna. The film has tentatively Imran Khan and Shruthi Haasan playing the lead roles and the official confirmation would be made shortly. Anand L Rai, the maker of hit films like Tanu Weds Manu franchise and Raanjhanaa fame is co-producing the film and shooting will be happening in October this year. “The plot remains the same, while there would be some modification to the screenplay to adapt the regional taste of Hindi audiences,” affirms Abhinesh while exclusively speaking to Behind Frames.

Adding more about his other projects, he has confirmed that Sandalwood chocolate boy Diganth would be playing the lead role in Kannada remake of ‘Thegidi’ that originally starred Ashok Selvan and Janani Iyer in lead roles.

Another surprising fact is that Thegidi remake will be happening shortly in Bollywood as well. The process of casting actors and technicians are on full swing and official announcements would be shortly.
